Born Outside Tribhuvan Cinema
Our journey began outside the iconic Tribhuvan cinema in Gandhinagar. As Mohan shared with The Hindu, his father arrived in Bengaluru as a young train stowaway and started making sandwiches for a living with nothing more than a hand toaster heating over a kerosene stove.
The sandwich — an assembly of two slices of white bread smattered with butter and green chutney, a generous amount of spiced mashed potatoes, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, onion and capsicum — hits the spot any time of the day and is priced at Rs. 15.
